Happy Memorial Day!
Thank You if someone in your family served in the Armed Forces!!!
Operation Write Home is having a Blog Hop this weekend. The theme is Thank You and we were asked to make a card with one of the many OWH Sketches.
I really like this older sketch and tried making one very similar but ended up with squares that were too big so I thought it would make a great AnyHero card!
It is fun to make a larger card sometimes and AnyHero cards are the place to do it.
I tried again and used the measurements that OWH gives {I love that they do that!} as a guide.
This card has 1.75" inner squares and 2" outer squares.
I have been wanting to use one of the SRM stickers and thought this would be perfect card.

ReplyDeleteWonderful masculine card esp. the colors, nice and spring looking. I'm thankful for my family, my son-in-law was over there 2 times. They had small childern then and I see the effects it had on them. We all made it.

I love both of your cards. It is really nice that OWH provides info on what dimensions are on their sketches. But I think the best thing about sketches is that they are open to interpretation.

These are two great cards. I love how they look like flowers. Although it is not a unique answer, I too am thankful for my family...but particularly for their continued good health. We've had some issues this past year, but happy to say TODAY everyone is good. slbuller@fullchannel.net

ReplyDeleteI am thankful for our community. We just had 2 children die and 2 hurt in a landslide while on a field trip. Our community is really pulling together.

I know this won't sound unique or anything, but I really am thankful for the health of myself, my husband, and my kids. I see everyday in my work what illness & disability can do and I'm always so thankful for healthy days!

ReplyDeleteThis morning I am thankful that my husband made it home safely from his out of town job and can spend the holiday weekend with us. So many families are not that lucky.
I think they are great...The Any Hero one is so very nice I am going to have to copy...that is the freedom of them, they can be any size...I like the brad in the middle I have several of them and now know how to use them. I like these cards. Thank you for sharing.

I'm thankful for my country and the freedom we share. My father was a WWII vet, my father-in-law was as well and even was yelled at once by General Patton. My brother served in the Navy and my husband in the Army during Vietnam. My brother-in-law loss his life serving our country in Vietman. He actually was killed in battle on Memorial Day. I have so very, very many that I could list husband, brother in-law, brother (still in and over seas), adopted daughters husband (still in and over seas), uncles, aunts, cousins ( a few still in and over seas), grandfather, father in-law the list goes on and on big military famlies on both sides here we are all proud to live here and many of them have served. Love your cards. I am in awe that each section turned out perfectly the same. Love the embellishment in the middle. Great sentiment also. My Mom recently passed away from cancer. I am thankful that i was able to spend the last two years with her. I am thankful to the brave men and women that allowed me to do that! I am thankful to you for sharing your wonderful cards.
