Clowning Around with Polka Dots
Here is my card for the Hambo Hoedown 75 Polka Dot Challenge. I tried to put as many polka dots as possible into the card. I got this cute clown Clown Shoes -digital image by Hambo Stamps by participating in last week's challenge. Fun!
I picked an Encouraging sentiment to participate in the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Challenge.

Punchy ~ Complimentary Challenges
This Cool Cat with the Shades on drinking Punch is my entry for the Hambo Hoedown Punch Challenge 74. I used the Cool Cat -digital image by Hambo Stamps who happened to have on Sunglasses which was also part of the challenge! A punch was also needed ~ I like this Dotted Wave by EK Success.
Sometimes it's nice to have specific guidelines for a card so I used the OWH Midweek Throwdown Color Challenge. Cards using complimentary colors such as Green, Orange and Purple. Granted I would not have picked these colors but like the results.

Happy Anniversary
I wanted to try out some paper sewing and what better time to really go all out than for a family member's anniversary.
I really admire Cindy Royal's work ~ you can see some of it on her blog at Royal Things. I wanted to include layering and sewing along with stamping, ribbon and some bling. This card even includes a Cricut cut!
Here is what I did with the inside.
I also really like Mary Engelbreit so I thought I would order some labels for the back of my cards. I found these at Colorful Images. Cute huh?
So what new techniques have you tried lately?

Double Dare
It's nice when you can make one card that can be used for two challenges.
The Operation Write Home July Challenge is to make a card using Cool Colors such as Green, Blue and Violet.
The Mojo Monday Sketch 248 Contest is to use this sketch.
I like to challenge myself with colors, patterns, designs and embellishments. And am using some of the paper & trim I got from Webster's Pages. Love That!
It is great to participate in a good cause too.
When 25 cards are linked to the OWH post, Our Daily Bread Designs will donate postage to mail one box of cards to a unit. When 50 cards are linked, ODBD will donate postage for a second box!
Thank You!!!

Throwdown Challenge
Here is my version of the Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown Challenge where they asked us to make an Anniversary Card for the Heroes to send home.
Can you tell I'm enjoying the red-white-blue color scheme lately??
by Melanie at Everyday Cricut |
Melanie post for today from Everyday Cricut inspired my design. I had already purchased the Independence Day-Freedom digital file from Cricut.com and just hadn't used it yet. This was the perfect opportunity!
