Guacamole is Good

Guacamole never lasts very long at our house.
                                              Garlic
U need spices: Lime Juice  Salt  Pepper  Jalapeño
                                              Avocados
                                              Cilantro

It doesn't take too much effort to make and is so yummy especially on Scoops!

Lucious Locks

Because I am off today I was able to curl/wave my daughter's straight hair with a technique she showed me in a video of Amy from Karmin.  My daughter wasn't too happy with it at first since she thought it would be more curly but once we did all the way around, it looked better.  I even saw the slight smile that told me she thought it was cool.  It is more of a natural, messy look.  We didn't have enough time before school to curl all her hair but we will definitely try it again. *** My project for today is to gather digital pictures to have them printed today to use for a crop next weekend.  Lunch with Mom a given.

Easter Goodie Bags

We have never really done the Easter basket thing at my house.  Recently the kids mentioned that I didn't ever give them a basket so I accumulated a few items.

I really didn't want to buy any more baskets and then saw some cute little Easter Treat Bags Diane had made on her blog Capadia Design

Both of my kids are older and love Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers so I made my own version of the bags.

I thought they turned out cute. They are easy and fun to make.

Butterfly Variations

Here is a butterfly made by toweling marker over the leftover backing of another cut out.
I like the stenciling effect even though it came out darker than I wanted.
The ink moved differently on the paper depending on which marker I used.

This butterfly is outlined in a glitter pen that looks nice in person, but only looks like an attempt to outline with a gray pen.
Just simple notes to send to family to celebrate Easter.

Positive & Negative Cards

I like being able to use a paper cut out and also the "waste" parts you have left over for projects. You get two effects and feel like you have been "thrifty".

I was wondering if all the swirls (which are my favorite) would cut okay.  They did great on the settings Joy recommends on her blog Obsessed with Scrapbooking

As you can see I'm not so savvy with the camera and lighting yet.  Even though the colors may not look right, you can see the detail of the cuts and the positive and negative areas.  I am trying to make simpler cards so people who receive them don't feel like they have to keep them forever.

Maybe you can notice I found a light purple (my favorite) cutting mat; excited to find that at JoAnn's today using my 50% off coupon.

Create with Cardboard

I took a class where we pulled back one layer of a piece of corrugated cardboard and made it into a box.  I thought it looked interesting and used it to make a sign to be used with one of those old fashioned ding-ding bells that people just "have to" ring.

The pull tie you get when you open a FedEx envelope makes a small ribbon that you can tie around a small pencil holder you can make by scoring and folding piece of corrugated cardboard.

Saturdays at my house

Hey ~Hope your Saturday is going well so far.  We've already watched my daughter march with her school band in a local festival parade.  We looked around at all the vendors and ate a chicken sandwich, corn on the cob and my husband couldn't resist the gigantic turkey leg. Good times.

I need to go work on my half Zzz TM pictures but before I go I meant to ask you ~
Have you ever tried Israeli Couscous???

I do not like regular couscous and was skeptical when my husband said we were having it with dinner one night.  (My husband likes to cook so I let him while I  work on my crafts)
I was pleasantly surprised because it was really delicious!

My Etsy Store

I have made some progress in getting my Etsy store ready to list my half Zzz TM quick change baby sheets.  It seems like there is always something else you have to do before you can finish what you are working on.  But I am learning all sorts of things about Blogger, Etsy and PayPal.

The next big hurdle to jump will be once I have the sheets "For Sale" how do I get the word out that people with new babies need these sheets??

Updated Blog

I enjoy looking at other blogs and have learned so much that I thought I should update mine.  I am still learning so be patient.  This probably won't be a daily updated blog but we'll see.  I like to do all sorts of things so who knows what will be posted.  I'd love to do a giveaway since they seem so fun when you win.

Thanks
