Spring Break

I won't be able to post to my blog this week since I will be on the 2012 Cricut Cruise that my sweet husband gave me for Christmas! My daughter is coming too! He has his golf trips and knew I had been wanting to have a group to hang out with.  We will be crafting, learning, laughing and making new friends.

So far we have had a lesson in being flexible:

We missed our flight but were able to get on the next one.
Great and we got to have coffee and something to eat!

Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Only one of our suitcases made it so we waited for the next flight so we got a lunch voucher for having to wait.
Great, we needed to eat lunch anyway.

Then our driver dropped us off at the wrong hotel and we had to take a shuttle to ours.  Oh well, we like our hotel better.

Once we got our room, we took a walk down the beach and then laid out by the pool for awhile.  This is what Spring Break is all about.

Homemade Washi Tape

Don't you just love colors and patterns?
I do and have been trying to find washi tape in my area, no such luck.
Then I remembered an extensive post by Mel McCarthy of Mel Stampz that had a link to a video by Nichole Heady from PaperTrey Ink

Well, you know I had to try it.

I gathered some supplies:
Scor-Tape in 1/2" and 1" from a local place Impressive Ideas
Tissue Paper from my stash
Ink from my stash (Versa Magic Chalk Ink)
Acrylic Stamps from my stash (and new to my stash)

I followed what Nicole did in the video and am loving making my own designs in my own colors.  I especially like that I can make as much or as little of any certain tape.

I am working on a project for a group I will spending some time with in April.

Let me know if you make your own washi tape!

First Circle Meet-Up

I am now a Cricut Circle member!
And guess what???  There is a meeting near me~how convenient.
I'm not sure how much crafting I will get done besides the Make-N-Take.
But I will make new friends, laugh and learn!

Here's what we made at our meeting.
I don't normally make decorations for St Patrick's Day so this is a nice change.
I like how the glitter sparkles in the photo.

It was great to meet other ladies who are as excited about papercrafting as I am.
