Bird Love

Sending love to someone far away with this "Bird Balloon - digital image by Hambo Stamps".  I added some Chevron embossing for the The Hambo Hoedown Challenge.

I really like simple cards and purple of course.

Snow Plaid

Thought I would start to make some wintery cards. It's a little hard to think of winter, snowflakes and Christmas when it is September.

The design is from the OWH sketch for this week #138

I used some "Baby Boy Bright" paper from Creative Memories and a snowflake stamp from my stash with VersaMagic chalk ink in Aegean Blue for this non-traditional color scheme

thanks

May Arts & Prima Ribbonista Sandy Allnock have a challenge this week to make a Thank You card for a first responder, service member or someone in your community who serves faithfully.

I will be sending my card in to Operation Write Home as an AnyHero card to thank someone who serves in our military.

Happy Birthday OWH!

Happy Birthday Operation Write Home!
Thought this Panda Gift -digital image by Hambo Stamps would be a perfect image to help celebrate. The Hambo Hoedown Challenge for this week is Anything Goes.

I used My Mind's Eye Lime Twist ~Life of the Party paper, some The Twinery Caribbean twine and had fun coloring this panda with Copic markers: BG11  BG18  R24  YG61  W5

Smooches for OWH

What do you call photopolymer stamps that kiss the page? ~Paper Smooches!
I love that name! They are helping celebrate OWH's birthday this week.

I used the Indie Chic 6 x 6 pad from My Mind's Eye along with the PS stamp set Chit Chat with the sketch for this week #137.

I like that you can combine the stamps to make the sentiment you want.

Why not make your own card following this sketch #137 and link it to both of the blogs.

More Scallops

I had some extra scallops left over so I thought I would use them for another card.  Our Daily Bread Designs donates postage for OWH to send boxes of cards overseas to our heroes.

This month's challenge is to use a scripture or an encouraging word.

The encouraging "I love you!" sentiment stamp is from my winnings of their random drawing of a previous month.

Splattered Scallops

Operation Write Home is celebrating their birthday this month.  Each week they are teaming up with one of their partners.  This past week has been Lawn Fawn.  Even though I currently do not have any of their stamps or paper, I wanted to participate in the challenges. Lawn Fawn asked us to make cards for kids here. The OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge was to use Scallops.

The Hambo Hoedown Challenge for this week was to use Splatters which reminds me of water so I thought their Octopus -digital image by Hambo Stamps would be perfect.

Labor Day

Hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend. I have been participating in some of the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party activities.  One of the challenges from Cherie was to use 1 image, two patterned papers and three words. I really like the beady eyed images from Penny Black Stamps. I used some red & white twine for a chew toy instead of the rose that came with the stamp.

Another of the challenges by Shannon was to use a tool you have neglected lately.  Well, this worked nicely with this week's Hambo Hoedown Challenge where we had to use a torn element with Wee Henry Karate - digital image by Hambo Stamps. I tore around the embossed lanterns and used a Creative Memories rotary blade tool to get close to the Hi-ya!  AND it worked with another challenge by Cherie who asked us to make a sports themed card.

OWH also had a bonus sketch that I thought I would try. They are partnering with Lawn Fawn this week for their Birthday Bash.  I don't have any of their cute stamps or paper but maybe I'll be the giveaway winner!
