Arden's Card

Kid'sChallenge-01

I have a friend named Arden. Even though she is only six years old, she has been making cards for quite some time with construction paper and markers.  I thought this challenge would be perfect for her.  Since it is a Simon Says Stamp Challenge, I brought over some Simon Says Stamps, inks, cardstock and colored pencils for her to try out.

She had a design in mind before I even arrived.  She traced and cut out half a butterfly so that when the recipient opens it,

a whole butterfly is revealed!

She really liked using the different colored ink cubes and the various stamps to make the card come to life.  Keeping to the summer color scheme was part of her design as well.  She will be giving this card to her parents who were on a "Staycation".

My Favorite Peep

The Hambo Hoedown Challenge for this week was to use Bunny Basket -digital image by Hambo Stamps and your favorite embellishment. Mine is embossing folders. I love how you can add design and texture without being too busy.

I kept in mind the Rule of Thirds from this month's OWH Design Bookcamp when designing this card.

What is your favorite embellishment?

you are the best

Excited to show this card for several reasons: I am proud of myself for using products from the March Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit that I just had to have;  this is my first time using Lawn Fawn paper;  I have been wanting to try a vertical design with a large flag on it; my scallop cutting came out even; and this card meets a couple of the requirements for some challenges I like to participate in ~Delightful Inspiration and OWH Bootcamp - Color Monochromatic.

I wanted the banner look three dimensional so I popped up only the middle section with foam tape and adhered the tails down flat with Dot Roller adhesive.
