I'm still here

For anyone interested, I've been busy scrapbooking a trip I took in February with my mom.

I've also been very busy with work and even got to go to Wisconsin and do some training.

I will try to post again soon.

Simple Circles

I had fun making my own patterned paper.  I saw some really neat stamps by PSA Essentials.  Since I don't have them, I tried the same look with a circle dot stamp I do have.

Thinking of You

Today is my brother's birthday. 

He likes cartoons so I made these Dr Seuss pillowcases for him. 

Welcome Home

My daughter came home after a long trip with her Granny.

I wanted to let her know she was missed and that I am glad she is home ♥

I used the Cricut American Alphabet that is in my 5th Anniversary E2, my favorite EK Success punch, the Martha Stewart Score Board for the rosettes and Gelly Roll Clear Star pen for trimming

Cute animals in that cartridge too for my animal lover.

My husband and the office building security guard developed a little friendship over the last few weeks.  This man was getting his degree and will be returning home.  My husband asked me to make a card to send him off with wishes for a great future.

Leftovers

 All the cards I made yesterday used my leftovers. 

When you use the pop dots you are left with a sticky foam skeleton that can be used as well.  It is actually a little more sturdy. 

These two cards were made from one large placecard that had my name on it.  The paper/design on the right covers up the letters.  I wanted summer cards but the cream color seemed like it called for brown tones which look more like autumn.  So I found some summery looking flowers from adhesive backed paper that I haven't used as much as I thought I would. 

 I pulled the blue and red (using my new Twinery baker's twine) out to try to summerize the design along with some summery buttons.  I don't love these cards but I think they would convey Birthday Wishes.

The leftover paper from my Cricut Expression 2 bird cutout made a simple card that I could embellish with cute teeny buttons.  The E2 makes it easy to have usable scraps. It shows exactly where the image will be cut out and paper can be sized then placed on mat accordingly.  Then you have negatives to use as well as the intended cutouts.

Cards are fun to make because it is a little challenge of color, design and purpose on a small scale with a short completion time. 

Painted Cards

 So I had to try making my own cards using the techniques I learned at Archiver's Bold Background Card Class.

I had some little acrylic paints leftover from another class.  Because the paints were in little tubs, I had to use a paint brush to put the paint on the stamps.

 The images didn't come out as clear as in class where we used the dauber paints. 

I liked using supplies I already had to make the papers and stamps coordinate.  

My daughter even liked how they turned out.
